The One Finger Strike uses the extended index finger to attack the opponents eyes, throat and/or solar plexus.
Setup
When practicing, start with one hand in the chamber
and the other in the strike. The striking arm is extended out in front
of the body. The index finger is extended and supported by the
middle, ring and little fingers which are bent at the second
knuckle. The forearm is rotated so that the strike is vertical,
with the thumb on top. The wrist is flat. Remember to keep the
elbow bent. The arm is angled in just slightly enough so that the
strike is in line with the center of the body.
Execution
The chambered fist leaves the chamber and the arm begins to
extend out toward the centerline. As the arm is extending, open
the fist into the strike. As the strike reaches full extension
(remember to not FULLY straighten the elbow) it is pulled back
slighly. The finished strike should be in line with the center of
the body. As the striking arm is extending, the other arm is
retracting back into the chamber.
Striking Surface
The tip of the extended index finger.
The hand looks like the image below left.
